Boyce Chartered Accountants – Sydney CBD NSW We are looking for a Finance Officer to join the Finance team based in our Sydney office on a 6-month contract , with the possibility of extension depending on business requirements. The ideal start date is early 2026. As a Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller and ensuring the effectiveness of Boyce’s finance function. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial insights and reports, maintaining high standards in transactional accuracy, and fostering strong cross‑functional relationships across the business. The Opportunity We are looking for a Finance Officer to join the Finance team based in our Sydney office on a 6-month contract , with the possibility of extension depending on business requirements. The ideal start date is early 2026. As a Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller and ensuring the effectiveness of Boyce’s finance function. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial insights and reports, maintaining high standards in transactional accuracy, and fostering strong cross‑functional relationships across the business. What Your Day‑to‑Day Will Look Like Your role will be varied, with a strong emphasis on operational finance support. You will be responsible for: Payroll: Supporting payroll processing, payroll tax lodgement, superannuation contributions, and assisting professional staff as needed. Accounts Payable: Managing supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations, and tracking capital expenditures. Banking: Reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, maintaining corporate banking records, and overseeing shareholder credit cards. Receipting & Accounts Receivable: Handling debtor receipts, client account reconciliation, debt recovery, invoicing, WIP reporting, and mailing invoices/statements. Reporting & Compliance: Assisting with budget preparation, statutory compliance, financial statements, annual tax returns, BAS, IAS, and FBT returns. Month‑End Processes: Supporting month‑end close with journal entries, billing analysis, inter‑office allocations, and account reconciliations. Administration: Managing finance‑related administrative tasks, shared mailbox oversight, timesheet administration, and database maintenance. About You We are looking for a proactive and organised finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships. You will be passionate about delivering high‑quality services and committed to continuous improvement. If you have some of the following skills, experience, or qualities, we would like to hear from you: Tertiary qualifications in Accountancy, Commerce, Business, or a relevant field. 5+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, or an equivalent combination of experience and qualifications. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Demonstrated commitment to attending to internal client finance and payroll needs in a professional and timely manner. Well‑organised with strong time‑management skills. A “can do” attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and strong commercial acumen.
