Harlequin Haulage is a family-owned transport company based in Kentville, QLD, specialising in long-haul interstate freight using extendable flat‑top trailers. We're currently seeking an experienced and reliable MC Driver for casual long‑distance work across Australia, with the potential for a permanent position in early 2026 as the business continues to expand. About the Role This is a casual interstate driving position involving long‑haul work across mainland Australia. Drivers must be willing and able to spend extended periods away from home. On average, you can expect to be away for 4‑6 weeks at a time, followed by around a week at home. Work volumes vary throughout the year — particularly around the Christmas and New Year period when operations pause — but you'll receive clear communication on schedules and upcoming jobs as projects are confirmed. What We Offer Dedicated company‑owned prime mover assigned to you Ongoing national freight using extendable flat‑tops and occasional road trains Supportive, respectful team culture built on family values Commitment to compliance, safety, and maintenance excellence Training provided on internal systems and apps for the right applicant Above‑award casual pay rates Equal Opportunity Employer – females encouraged to apply Immediate start available for the right candidate Your Responsibilities Operate heavy vehicles with extendable flat‑top trailers Perform pre‑start checks and maintain vehicle roadworthiness and cleanliness Complete accurate driver diaries, PODs, and servicing records Report vehicle faults promptly to management Carry out minor servicing or repairs while on the road if required Adhere to NHVR, WHS, CoR, and fatigue management standards Essential Requirements Current MC Licence Commercial Driver Medical Certificate (required under NHVAS & WAHVA) or willingness to obtain Proven long‑haul driving experience Sound understanding of NHVR, CoR, fatigue, and WHS obligations Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one Strong communication skills and professionalism on and off the road Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule and documentation Australian citizenship is required for this position Preferred (Not Essential) Experience with extendable trailers and oversize freight Familiarity with Gearbox compliance software and/or the Prestart app You’ll Be a Great Fit If You: Take pride in your truck and equipment Communicate clearly and follow procedure Value structure, reliability, and respect on the job Understand the balance between time on the road and time at home Want to join a company that treats drivers as professionals, not numbers Depot: Lockyer Valley, QLD – Work involves pickups and deliveries anywhere across mainland Australia.
