About you and this position Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play a hands‑on role in the care, maintenance and improvement of Council’s tree assets across streets, parks, reserves and open spaces. Working as part of a skilled arboriculture team, you will assist with pruning, inspections, removals, planting and general tree maintenance to help ensure trees are healthy, safe and well-presented. You will use your practical skills daily, work safely with tools and equipment, and contribute to maintaining and enhancing the City’s urban tree canopy for the community to enjoy. As a successful candidate, you will have: Certificate III in Horticulture, Arboriculture or Conservation and Land Management or extensive experience Chainsaw Competency Ticket Current and valid Class MR Driver’s Licence (minimum) Experience in the safe operation of machinery, plant, equipment, and hand/power tools Basic computer and mobile device skills to assist with work management systems and record keeping Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and procedures relevant to arboriculture operations.
