About the Role The Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving the organisation's technology infrastructure, including on-premises systems, cloud platforms, and network services across the organisation. The role ensures the secure, stable and efficient operation of infrastructure that underpins the organisation’s service delivery. It provides advanced technical support, contributes to the design and delivery of technology projects, and maintains system performance through proactive monitoring and lifecycle management. Responsibilities Administration and support of enterprise IT infrastructure, including Microsoft-based environments Supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Azure within a structured IT service delivery framework Device management and deployment tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune) to support the enterprise environment Performing proactive monitoring and lifecycle management of systems to ensure reliability and performance Providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting across the organisation Contributing to the design and implementation of technology projects that enhance service delivery Qualifications & Requirements Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, with equivalent relevant experience. Experience and knowledge of IT infrastructure administration in a local government or comparable regulated public sector environment. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent are desirable. ITIL Foundation certification or working knowledge of ITIL processes is desirable. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
