About The Role For many children, their first experience in our game is through participation in AFL Auskick, junior and school football programs. The core purpose of the Participation & Programs Coordinator position is to grow participation through the professional and consistent delivery of these core programs. Through best‑in‑class delivery, our Development Coordinators ensure the highest‑quality customer experience across all football and fan engagement programs. This role is based in Darwin, Northern Territory. We will be closed for our annual closure period from December , returning January . Over this closure period, applications will not be responded to during this time. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Deliver and run a variety of AFL programs in either school, after-school, or community club environments Ensure each program is delivered in line with the program curriculum and all participants can participate in a safe, friendly & fun environment Deliver high quality school football competitions and programs Implement transition and retention strategies from AFL Auskick and school programs to junior club football Liaise with and influence teachers, schools, and other program stakeholders Organise AFL player visits and fan engagement opportunities Support junior clubs and Auskick centres in relation to recruitment, volunteers, coaching, protocols, promotion and venue hire Conduct promotional activities to meet participant targets e.g. school assemblies and other promotional activities Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role Support and contribute to the success of the broader team OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER Well-developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation skills Experience working with children and young people Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively unsupervised Strong organisation and planning skills Proven customer service skills, including negotiation abilities Holds a valid Ochre Card (Working with Children Check) Due to the nature of the sporting industry must be willing to work outside normal business hours from time to time, such as evenings and weekends Demonstrated ability to relate to and engage diverse communities Driver's license to travel across the Darwin region OUR CULTURE Please visit THE PERKS Play The Day Your Way – a flexible approach to your working life My Development – lean into the AFL’s My Development program consisting of on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, and formal learning Play Well – access to our extensive Health and Wellbeing program centered around our belief in a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy workplace My Benefits – with thanks to our AFL Corporate Partners, access great benefits and discounts AFL Silver Memberships – permanent team members can access AFL matches at Marvel Stadium and the MCG, enjoy and share the experience of our game with your family and friends Applications Close: 19 January 2026 #J-18808-Ljbffr
