Council of the City of Sydney, Österreich Cto Labs Pty Vollzeit

CTO Labs partners with investors and corporate leaders on scaling technology, accelerating value, and delivering commercially grounded AI solutions. Our work spans M&A, technology strategy, product acceleration and AI-enabled transformation. We are recognised for combining deep technical insight with pragmatic, commercially-led decision-making. We are now expanding our product capability and hiring a Manager - AI Products & Consulting to shape, define, and drive delivery of AI-powered products. Role Overview This is a consulting role focused on helping clients understand where AI can deliver value, shaping practical solutions, and guiding the design and implementation process from early discovery through to delivery. You will work across multiple client engagements, assessing business problems, identifying suitable AI opportunities, breaking them into structured solution options, and defining clear product paths that can be executed by engineering teams. You will be responsible for analysing complex environments, defining use cases backed by data and metrics, and working with clients to develop AI driven products and services that solve real commercial problems. The work requires structured analytical thinking, systems thinking, and the ability to translate ambiguity into a clear, prioritised feature set. You will work across multiple client engagements, including AI chatbots, workflow automation, retrieval-augmented systems and other AI product initiatives. Your work will enable clients to understand what is possible with AI, how to implement it effectively, and how to ensure each feature delivers measurable commercial value. The day to day aspects of the role Assess Client Workflows and Problem Spaces Engage directly with clientstakeholders to understand their processes, constraints and commercial objectives. Use structured interviews, workflow analysis and metrics to identify where AI can create measurable impact. Translate Business Needs into Product Direction Serve as the bridge between client teams and engineering, clarifying stated and unstated needs. Convert ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable product definitions. Identify AI Opportunities and Define Value Cases Map end to end workflows, highlight pain points and surface high value AI use cases. Determine where retrieval, automation or conversational interfaces can meaningfully improve efficiency or outcomes. Shape Product Features and Solution Options Lead Client Ideation and Solution Workshops Facilitate collaborative design sessions to align stakeholders, validate assumptions and shape solution concepts. Ensure clients understand trade offs, dependencies and expected outcomes. Evaluate Technical Pathways with Engineers Explore multiple solution approaches and determine the simplest viable option that balances technical feasibility with commercial outcomes. Consider data readiness, integration requirements and model behaviour to guide the recommended approach. Produce Product Specifications and Delivery Assets Create structured product artefacts that guide engineering delivery, including feature definitions, acceptance criteria and behaviour expectations for AI systems. Support Implementation and Validate Behaviour Work with engineers throughout delivery, clarifying intent and validating outputs. Participate in testing cycles to assess accuracy, reliability and user experience for AI features. Analyse Early Usage and Prioritise Improvements Review pilot results, usage patterns and user feedback to identify quick wins and refine product behaviour. Provide clear recommendations for iteration and next step investment. Collaborate Across Client and CTO Labs Teams Work alongside CTO Labs engineers and product specialists, as well as client stakeholders, to ensure the solution direction is aligned and delivery remains efficient. A little bit about you Experience 4 to 7 years in product management or a similar hybrid product or strategy role, ideally within consulting or project based environments. You have experience defining and delivering software, data or AI enabled products in B2B or B2B2C contexts. AI and Data Knowledge Solid understanding of practical AI concepts, including how LLMs behave, common limitations, data dependencies and evaluation methods. You do not need to be a data scientist but you should be comfortable reasoning about model behaviour and identifying feasible solution paths. Technical Acumen Able to work confidently with engineers on topics such as APIs, data flows, integration points and system boundaries. You can discuss technical concepts clearly and understand how constraints shape product choices. Requirements & Analysis Skills Strong capability in structured discovery, requirements elicitation and translating ambiguous needs into clear product definitions. You can analyse workflows, identify gaps and convert insight into actionable features. Systems Thinking Able to understand how data, processes, systems and user behaviour interact, and to design solutions that consider the broader ecosystem. Communication & Stakeholder Management Confident communicator who can simplify technical detail for non technical stakeholders and articulate product decisions clearly. You can manage competing priorities and maintain alignment across client and internal teams. Problem Solving Analytical thinker who can work through ambiguity, explore options and identify practical paths forward. You are comfortable challenging assumptions and using evidence to guide decisions. Familiar with iterative delivery environments and able to adapt quickly to shifting conditions. You can manage a structured backlog, support engineers through delivery and keep work moving efficiently. Education Relevant qualifications in Product, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or similar. Equivalent experience is welcome. Additional Skills That Set You Apart Domain Experience Background in sectors with complex workflows such as healthcare, financial services, insurance, retail, mobility or other B2B2C environments. Conversational AI Expertise Prior experience working on chatbot or conversational AI projects. If you have been involved in designing chatbot dialogue flows, defining intents / entities, or using platforms like Azure Bot Service, Dialogflow, etc., it would be a great advantage. Similarly, knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation or recommender systems would set you apart. Technical Tool Proficiency Familiarity with any AI / ML tools or cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) related to deploying chatbots or data solutions. For instance, experience with knowledge bases, vector databases, or AI model integrations in a project context. Certifications Product, agile or business analysis certifications that demonstrate structured practice and delivery discipline. Impactful Work Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects that will have a direct impact on a real business. You’ll see firsthand how your analysis and delivery work creates measurable impact for clients across a range of industries and operational contexts. It’s a chance to deliver an AI solution that drives tangible business value in a short timeframe. Collaborative Team Environment Be part of a small, agile team where your ideas are heard and your expertise is valued. You will work closely with experienced AI developers and have a significant voice in how the solution is shaped. Professional Growth Strengthen your AI expertise through real delivery work, including applied LLM design, RAG architecture, user experience for AI systems and data-led product definition. You will gain exposure to diverse sectors, enhancing both your technical depth and your consulting capability. Flexible Work Arrangement You should expect to work on site with clients for a portion of the time, depending on engagement needs. We offer a hybrid working environment with a minimum of 2 days in the office. We believe this role is ideal for a dynamic Product Manager who is passionate about AI and eager to make a real impact in a short time. If you are excited by the idea of working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and business strategy, and if you meet the above qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
