Senior Cultural Advisor 2025 (Contract, 11 months) – Full‑time, 11–12 months, Pro‑rata salary $120,000–$133,000. Location: Sydney, Australia. Eligibility and Commitment to Indigenous Applicants This vacancy is open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants, reflecting ABC's commitment to the Reconciliation Action Plan, ABC Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Plan 2023‑2026 and the Equal Employment Opportunity (Commonwealth Authorities) Act 1987. About The Role Join us as a Senior Cultural Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping how the ABC tells stories — bringing Indigenous and diverse cultural perspectives, protocols, and knowledge to the heart of our Screen and Audio content. You’ll share and transfer Indigenous and diverse community and cultural knowledge, expertise and skills to colleagues and clients, delivering information sessions, briefings and training, and providing editorial guidance. You’ve led cultural initiatives, policies, or plans and can influence and build strong, collaborative relationships with people at all levels. You are a born communicator, can explain ideas clearly, whether in writing or face‑to‑face. You bring energy, professionalism, and a creative approach to finding solutions that make a real difference. You understand Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures, can communicate sensitively and effectively, live the ABC Values, and are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment. Working at the ABC The ABC is the nation's most trusted and independent source of Australian conversations, culture and stories. With more than 4,000 employees from diverse backgrounds across more than 50 locations, we are proud to create, curate and deliver high‑quality content that informs, educates and entertains.
