Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Operations designs, installs and maintains the world’s largest computing infrastructure. Our scope includes systems, repairing, dealing with issues, handling and tracking parts, and assisting in Data Center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will help change the face of technology in the region. Key job responsibilities In this role as a Data Center Operations Technician, you will be responsible for the on-site management of hardware lifecycle of our IT infrastructure that includes: Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs Diagnose and repair issues for server, storage and network devices, including the physical replacement of parts Remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks and participate in Data Center power & cooling events Shift work (4 days on and 4 days off including night shifts on a rotational basis) This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment using lifting equipment Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle to travel between sites About the team Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Basic Qualifications - 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience- 1+ years of computer networking experience Preferred Qualifications - Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure- Experience working in a colocation data center facility- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms (e.g., Dell, HP, Supermicro) is a plus Acknowledgement of country:In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
