Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Data Operations & Engineering, the purpose of this role will be to lead all aspects of Data Engineering on behalf of Australian Unity. You will be responsible for provision of ETL/ELT pipelines that leverage, automated testing, continuous build, continuous integration, and continuous delivery and deployment. Development and delivery of intra‑day streaming activity that supports business objectives. Establish strong ELT/ETL ingestion frameworks, standards and templates for consistent delivery. Create CI/CD continuous integration and continuous delivery framework for accelerated deployment. Physicalise conceptual and logical data models. Maintain and continue to enhance the data orchestration and transformation from a wide variety of sources leveraging cloud data services. Apply data governance, automated testing and validation for excellent process execution. Implement Data Engineering and DataOps, for timely change management and automation adoption. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on the data engineering workstream activities supporting projects. Qualifications A proven track record of successfully leading data engineering teams. Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms and well‑architected frameworks. A high proficiency in CI/CD delivery. Strong understanding of data engineering practices, techniques and associated data governance principles in terms of data sharing and accessibility. Successfully delivered sustainable DataOps outcomes. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to build and motivate high performing teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
