Southern Pacific Sands are a leading material supplier of sand and concrete products in South-east Queensland. Over the last 25 years we have established ourselves as a reputable and successful wholesale supplier with the more recent expansion of the business into the pre-mixed concrete market. We are looking to welcome a full-time concrete quality tester to join our laboratory, based at Ningi, near Bribie Island. The opportunity is suited to a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking person who is capable of a physical role while maintaining timeliness and professionalism. Ideally suited to someone who is looking to work within a small but expanding lab with a range of roles and responsibilities within the laboratory. As a quality officer, you will primarily be responsible for performing tests in accordance with AS 1012 and other relevant standards on freshly poured concrete and concrete samples both in the field and the on-site laboratory, with sand and/or aggregate testing, also be undertaken under ISO accredited Quality Management System. The successful candidate will fill a role consisting of a 5-day working week, Saturday shifts may be required. Duties and Key Responsibilities Perform field and laboratory testing of fresh and hardened concrete as per AS 1012 procedures including (but not limited to) slump, air content, temperature, cylinder casting Collection of concrete test samples in accordance with AS procedures and project specifications Document field and lab test data accurately and maintaining records to ensure traceability Liaising with concrete truck drivers and other workers regarding concrete quality and other aspects of concrete production Working within the requirements of our quality systems and accredited procedures including field and laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, calibration Sampling and testing of sand samples from the various production lines and stockpiles within the organisation Working with the Quality Supervisor and allocations on scheduling/reporting of specific jobs General housekeeping and maintenance Other tasks as deemed necessary and suitable Assist with technical/sales enquiries and requests pertaining to specific products or blends Job Requirements & Qualifications MSL40122- Certificate 4- Laboratory Techniques highly sought after Experience or knowledge of concrete/construction materials testing highly desirable Construction industry white card desirable Safety first approach to all tasks Enhanced digital literacy and communication skills with particular focus on data management and reporting Fit & healthy- role entails physical tasks in sometimes demanding conditions Ability to analyse and interpret results across a range of parameters within monitoring systems Demonstrated attention to detail and professional and clean presentation of work Manual driver’s license and willingness to drive manual vehicles on road Independent work ethic- strong time management skills What We Offer Competitive remuneration package Ongoing training and development opportunities Supportive team environment Apply Now Submit your resume outlining your relevant experience.
