About the Role: The Shift Lead Team Leader plays a vital role in ensuring the effective delivery of outreach services within the SUC program. This position is responsible for providing leadership, support, and mentoring to the SUC shift leads and the acting shift lead pool. Through a strengths-based approach, the Team Leader will foster a high standard of client services and promote professional growth among team members in compliance with Ngwala’s Policy and Procedures. Key Responsibilities: Support the daily function of the Metro Sobering Up Centre (SUC) Create, plan and implement PIR events for community. Be available for on-call afterhours when needed. (Minimum 1 week per month/ Maximum 2 weeks per month) Support and monitor data control Oversee functions of CMT Program Provide one on one supervision to PIR Shift Leads and Acting Shift Leads. Support PIR Metro Programs Manager with any relevant administrative tasks. Monitoring on training and upskilling needs of the Shift Leads. Comply with Ngwala’s administrative and personnel requirements General Duties Be available to take up additional responsibility as directed by Executive Team Attend relevant internal meetings and external meetings Professional Development Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) evaluation and activities. Participate and engage in ongoing professional development and staff training need analysis Health & Safety Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage the team to do the same. Be aware of and adhere to OH&S and Health & Wellbeing policies and procedures. Physical Demands This position requires driving and sitting for extended periods of time, operating office equipment, climbing stairs, at times lifting, and other related physical demands. Staff are responsible to only undertake physical duties they deem safe. Teamwork and Agency Representation Maintain team boundaries and confidentiality in a professional and respectful manner. Represent, promote and/or deliver the program/s in a professional high-quality manner. Be respectful to others, and elevate issues in accordance with Ngwalas grievance policy. Skills & Experience: An understanding of the intergenerational loss, grief and trauma that is experienced by Aboriginal community members and the subsequent AOD issues that result. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and commitment to the Aboriginal community Experience working with AOD and/or dual diagnosis community members including a willingness to participate in relevant training. Demonstrated experience in the provision of screening, assessment and support to people and their families with AOD issues. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality advice, education and support to community members and families. Ability to work within a team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
