About the Role TRONOX is recruiting for an Asset Improvement Engineer (Mechanical) for a full‑time position at our Bunbury Operations in the idyllic South West of WA. This role is predominately based at our Australind site located on the picturesque Old Coast Road, in Australind 6233. The engineer will support the production and refinement of titanium dioxide – a key chemical used in coatings, plastics, paper and other industries – and will also perform work at the nearby Kemerton Plant in the Kemerton Industrial area. This position is a full‑time, permanent role with a 38‑hour compressed week (9‑day fortnight) and every second Friday off. Successful applicants must live in the South West region; there is no on‑site camp facility. Key Accountabilities Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mechanical Engineering, driving capital projects, including technical reviews, scope definitions, and optimisation of mechanical solutions and operational readiness requirements. Provide oversight for governance and compliance of Tronox corporate policies, procedures and work instructions, generating and updating standards, datasheets and specification documents. Ensure optimal long‑term asset integrity and reliability of two plants through asset management and reliability continuous improvement projects. Develop and optimise systems and processes to improve business efficiency and identify cost‑reduction opportunities. About You Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Experience supporting capital projects for mechanical systems and equipment, including scope, budget and schedule management. Skilled in preparing technical specifications, design reviews, scope of works and associated project documentation. Working knowledge of current applicable Mechanical Engineering Standards and Codes (ASME, API, AS/NZ Standards for fixed and pressurised plant equipment). Experience with operational readiness assessments for capital projects, including equipment PM strategies and spare parts analysis. High organisational, time‑management and project‑management skills, with the ability to multitask in a high‑pressure environment. Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
