Due to recent movements within the business, we now have an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and rewarding industry for a Purchasing Assistant to be part of our team at our Paget site. About The Role You will play a key role in supporting purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring smooth material flow to meet operational needs. Key Responsibilities Prepare and issue purchase orders accurately and on time. Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules. Resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or damaged goods. Maintain positive vendor relationships and assist with negotiations when required. Update purchasing records, pricing data, and maintain accurate documentation. Work closely with the warehouse team to monitor inventory levels. Liaise with internal departments to clarify purchase requirements. Provide administrative support to the Purchasing Manager. Attend nearby suppliers, hardware stores, supermarkets, or specialty shops to purchase urgent materials as needed. Skills & Experience Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Previous experience in purchasing or administration is desirable but not essential. A valid driver?s license is preferred for occasional local purchases.
