An exciting opportunity exists for a compassionate and experienced Infant Program Clinician to join the Parent Aide Unit on a part-time (0.5 FTE) fixed term contract until October 2026. The Parent Aide Unit is a community based early intervention parenting program which recruits and trains peer volunteers, who visit children and caregivers at home or in the community who are experiencing difficulties with the transition to parenthood. Located at our South Brisbane campus, this position plays a key role in supporting and supervising volunteers to support the emotional wellbeing of families, promote infant development, and support connection with appropriate child and family support services in the southside community. As part of the Parent Aide Unit, you will; Deliver high-quality early intervention and prevention services for infants, children, and families, providing targeted support to those who would benefit from parent aide services. Recruit, train, supervise and support Parent Aide volunteers with an ongoing commitment to their development. Co ordinate community and outreach activities and events to support infant and family engagement Apply clinical knowledge and skills in engaging with volunteers, infants, children, and families, to deliver effective volunteer support. Apply a knowledge of community services supporting children and families. Conduct evidence-based psychosocial assessments and develop intervention plans in collaboration with families and volunteers. Apply sound clinical judgment to identify and manage risk, escalating care as required to ensure safety and wellbeing. About you You’re a dedicated and empathetic clinician with a genuine passion for supporting the development of infants and families. You will also have: A tertiary qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or OT Registration with the relevant professional body, or eligibility for AASW membership. Unless otherwise exempt, a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain one. Experience in working with the family system to support infant development. Experience working in a community setting or outreach service.
