The Role We are seeking a High School Humanities Teacher to join our High School Faculty in a part‑time capacity, commencing Term 1, 2026. Reporting to the High School Director, this role plays a key part in delivering engaging, high quality Humanities education within a Steiner framework. You will work closely with students, families, faculty colleagues and support teams to contribute positively to both the academic and cultural life of the school. In this role you will: Planning and delivering high quality Humanities lessons, including Main Lessons and skills‑based classes, aligned with Steiner pedagogy Fostering students’ critical thinking, creativity and written and verbal communication skills Integrating literature, writing and language study with artistic and experiential learning practices Creating a respectful, supportive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing Providing timely feedback and formal assessments in line with NZCSE standards Collaborating with colleagues through faculty meetings and shared planning Maintaining accurate student records, reports, and documentation in line with school policies What You Bring Teaching qualifications recognised by the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT), with current registration or eligibility An understanding of Steiner education, or a genuine willingness to engage with Steiner pedagogy Experience teaching Humanities at a high school level, with both analytical and creative approaches Strong relationship‑building skills with students, colleagues, and parents Effective organisational and time‑management skills Alignment with the values and ethos of Samford Valley Steiner School Why Join SVSS?
