About The Job As the Advanced Trainee in Public Health Medicine, you will achieve all the competencies leading to a Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM). You will have a particular focus on rural, Aboriginal and One Health issues in Public Health Medicine. You will work in a highly competent multi‑disciplinary team to contribute to protecting the health of the population of Hunter New England. You will be supported by highly experienced public health physicians who will mentor and support you within this position. They have an excellent track record in developing highly effective public health physicians. About You You are collaborative, open, respectful and empowered. You have a commitment to equity and evidence‑based practice. Requirements Enrolled as an Advanced Trainee in the AFPHM Advanced Training Program. MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Eligibility to drive in NSW. Completed at least 3 years of medical experience since graduating and an MPH (or equivalent) including the faculty's core discipline areas: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Protection, Health Promotion, Health Policy, Planning and Management. Demonstrated interest in core public health practice elements, particularly the rural, One Health and Aboriginal priorities of Hunter New England. Advanced independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem‑solve with an awareness of limitations and the ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
