Infrastructure Engineer

Green Light Australia are looking to engage an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. Based in Melbourne’s inner suburbs (3-4 days per week onsite, rest remote). Start ASAP. Leading company in its field. 7‑month assignment (chance to extend). Responsibilities Conduct planning and assessment for all applications, services, and configurations on existing servers. Verify compatibility with Windows Server versions, especially for business‑critical applications. Decide on upgrade paths (installation or migration). Validate hardware to ensure it meets minimum requirements. Conduct pre‑upgrade preparation and post‑update validation. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with other key stakeholders. Requirements Proven experience in similar roles as Infrastructure Engineer, Windows Engineer or Infrastructure Specialist specialising in Windows Server and VMware for large complex environments. Extensive experience working on Windows Server environments (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022). Strong experience with server migration, upgrade, and validation processes. Strong experience with VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). Proven experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services. Proven experience with leading migration of servers, databases, and applications from legacy platforms to modern environments. Proven experience with engineering, configuring, upgrading and managing VMware ESXi server environments. Provided support and administration for storage arrays and disaster recovery solutions. Designed and implemented server and storage migration. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
