Medicare Officer Full-time position based in Albury. Salary of $64,000 pa plus super and up to $15,900 tax-free salary packaging. On-the-job training and professional support. About the role We are seeking a Medicare Officer to manage all Medicare claims with accuracy and efficiency. You will ensure any rejected or partially paid claims are resolved quickly, maintain full compliance with Services Australia (Medicare) requirements, legislation and AWAHS policies, and support smooth billing operations across the organisation. Your attention to detail will help strengthen systems through internal audits, training on Medicare item numbers and promotion of best-practice billing. Key responsibilities Monitor daily Medicare billing activity and provide regular reports to management. Oversee PRODA registrations and maintain compliance documentation for new staff. Resolve rejected or partially paid Medicare claims promptly and accurately. Maintain compliance with Medicare legislation and internal AWAHS policies. What you will bring Experience in Medicare administration or health care billing systems. Knowledge of Medicare and PRODA regulations, legislation and compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Competent computer skills. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills with commitment to meeting deadlines. An understanding of Aboriginal health and culturally safe service delivery and practice.
