Infrastructure and Access Crossing Engineer Permanent full‑time role based in Central Coast NSW, New South Wales. The position offers a 9‑day fortnight work/life balance and an opportunity to contribute to infrastructure projects that enhance public access and safety. About the Role The Infrastructure and Access Crossing Engineer plays a key role in managing applications for vehicle access crossings and transport infrastructure. This role requires a proactive approach to assessing engineering plans, ensuring compliance during construction, and liaising with stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes for the community. Key Responsibilities Provide high‑quality customer service and ensure all infrastructure works comply with Australian Standards and council guidelines. Conduct technical inspections and provide expert advice throughout approval and construction processes. Manage application assessments and liaise with stakeholders to achieve compliance and quality. Provide technical input into council policies and guidelines. Ensure that all activities meet legislative requirements and promote public safety. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or demonstrated contemporary experience in assessing and determining matters in an asset and infrastructure environment. Current Class C driver’s licence. Experience in the construction and maintenance of civil works, especially roads and drainage. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement. Strong analytical skills to assess engineering plans, technical documentation and ensure legislative compliance. Motivated, adaptable and committed to high standards, fostering a collaborative work environment. Experience managing projects efficiently and providing technical input into council policies and guidelines. Salary & Working Conditions Commencing salary up to $100.5k per year, progressing to $116.5k upon assessment of skills and performance. Includes 12% superannuation and 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance.
