About the Job We are seeking a skilled Systems Specialist to join our team and provide critical ICT support to our Secure Mission Platforms Team in Sydney. This role is integral to maintaining, deploying, and optimising our systems to ensure operational effectiveness and resilience in high‑security environments. As a Systems Specialist, you'll be hands‑on with a mix of support and engineering tasks. From user support and system builds through to automation, patching, and disaster recovery. You'll gain exposure to Defence ICT environments, providing a unique opportunity to strengthen your skills in security, systems administration, and engineering. Based at our Penrith HQ, you will be part of a collaborative and dynamic team with clear pathways to develop into senior systems engineering and cyber security roles. Candidates with Defence/Intelligence ICT experience will be highly regarded. Responsibilities & Duties User support (Helpdesk) and maintenance. Operating system build design (SOE), including Windows Deployment Services (WDS). PaaS build and systems imaging. Manage and or deploy Defence applications. Scripting and automating application installation and customisation using tools such as PowerShell. Maintaining configuration management approaches including documentation. Providing security updates through effective patching application. Monitoring and performance management reporting. Disaster recovery and backup. Documentation and Knowledge Management. Qualifications A relevant qualification in ICT such as: CompTIA+. Cyber Security. ITIL, PowerShell Automation, MS, VMWare, SQL, CompTIA, Windows Server. Certificate 3+. Diploma. Experience ICT Systems Administration. Scripting / PowerShell automation. Imaging. Windows Deployment Services (WDS). Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT). Engineering Documentation. Change Documentation. Familiar with ISM, DSPF, PSPF. Were looking for someone who Australian citizen (Due to nature of Defence work) Has an inactive or reinstatable Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance. Veterans highly regarded (Such as, ARMY RASIGS, RAAF CISCON, CISTECH, NAVY CIS) Exceptional problem solving. Communicates clearly and confidently both written and verbal. Is highly organised with strong attention to detail. Builds positive relationships and manages stakeholders effectively. Works well independently and takes initiative. Can manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Adapts easily to change and works well in a team environment. Based on site at Penrith HQ, with the potential to work from home 1 to 2 days per week following the initial onboarding period. Some travel interstate may be required. Why Join Us?
