Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Oncology Nurse Pratitioner endorsed / candidate, to join the Medicine and Cancer Services team. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role The Nurse Practitioner has an advanced role that includes health assessment and management and may include, but is not limited to, the direct referral of patients to other health care professionals, prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic investigations. The Oncology NP is a member of the Medical Oncology Team and their role is designed to support, complement and evolve with the service demands facing the department. The scope of practice will be defined by the Head of Medical Oncology and the development of an area of special expertise will be encouraged. Part Time - 64Hours / Fortnight Permanent position Reports to : Clinically - Medical OncologyHead of Unit & professionally – Nurse Unit Manager,Oncology and Medical Day Unit and Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer To be successful in this role you will have : Experience and good working and practice knowledge of various oncologicaldiseases and its management Proven ability to work flexibly and effectively both independently and in a team-based environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet competing demands Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration Minimum of two years full time employment as an RN within specialty area At least two years full time employment in an “advanced nursing practice” role within Cancer Services within the last six years Completed Postgraduate Qualification in Oncology / CancerNursing and / or Masters Please refer to Position Description for full list of essential and desirable criteria for the role.
