About the Role We have an opportunity for a Safety Auditor to join our fast‑paced Internal Audit team. This role will provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services to add value and improve operations across the Endeavour Group of companies. The position may be located at our head office in Sydney or an office in Melbourne. Primary Objectives Support the delivery of Internal Audit (IA) objectives, providing assurance and advisory services designed to add value and improve organisational operations. Apply a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and test the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance processes. Lead and conduct assurance engagements, support management in delivering the annual audit plan, and coach team members. Support the development, planning and management of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Assurance Program and provide objective assurance of compliance with processes, procedures, strategies and objectives. Ensure safety, health and workers compensation self‑insurance licence requirements are met in line with Board and State licensing requirements. Provide advisory services and promote continuous improvement in safety performance and safety management systems within the Endeavour Group. Key Responsibilities Support the business to maintain Safety, Health and Wellbeing and Injury Management Self‑Insurance Licence through completion of operational and National Audit Tool (NAT) system audits. Support the Senior Manager / Audit Manager in developing and maintaining the national safety audit assurance program across retail stores and hotels. Lead the execution of high‑risk store / hotel safety audits and system management audits, identifying and assessing key risks in operational controls. Develop and maintain the audit schedule using a risk‑based approach that factors in performance, risks, previous audit results and regulatory enforcement. Present audit findings, in written and verbal formats, to various levels of management, including the Audit and Risk Committee. Support team members to achieve a level of engagement with the business, promoting IA as a trusted advisor. Identify, recommend and support operational improvement of IA’s own processes and tools. Act as an ambassador for IA during assignments, engaging with management to facilitate achievement of IA objectives. Take initiative to achieve and evolve on IA deliverables. Qualifications & Experience Certificate IV (minimum) in Safety, Health and Wellbeing (Diploma in WHS highly desirable). Experience in a senior safety adviser/auditor role with environmental, health and safety/operational audit experience. Experience in auditing Safety, Health and Wellbeing Management Systems. Proficient in Australian Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Current or previous experience working within a Self‑Insurance Licence organisation. Previous operational experience in retail stores and/or hotels. Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communications to business and store/hotel operations. Ability to interpret and analyse data, work with auditor teams, and build relationships with business stakeholders. Strong problem‑solving aptitude and attention to detail. Must be available to travel interstate once a month for a 5‑day period. Vehicle provided (tool of trade). Benefits Flexible working arrangements.
