You will be expected to be confident and able to prepare and complete financial statements, tax returns, activity statements, and financial reports for all business types in a timely manner. You will have the experience and desire to mentor and coach junior team members so that they can grow and thrive professionally within our firm and industry. You will possess a mindset to fit in and be part of a cohesive team that provides timely quality advice and outcomes for our growing client base. You will be given reachable targets with an emphasis on working reasonable hours, and you will be able to access all of the Directors and Senior Accountants within our firm to mentor and help you further develop or improve your skill sets. Key Responsibilities Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients Contribute to client interaction and advisory Advise business owners and individuals in relation to tax legislation Identify areas of opportunity such as business planning, business / tax structuring, benchmarking / profit improvement Detect and address potential compliance issues proactively Conduct individual salary and wage interviews and complete Tax Returns during client appointments Contribute knowledge and experience to the efficiency of Murray Nankivell's internal operating systems About you Skills and experience You will possess or be able to evidence most or all the following selection criteria. Technical Expertise Hold an Accounting Degree qualification Proven Australian experience in a Public Practice Accounting firm Strong understanding of accounting, compliance, and tax, including income tax, CGT, FBT, and GST Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, managing time to consistently meet deadlines High proficiency with Accounting software packages Personal Qualities Customer Focus – Seeks to understand client expectations and responds to their needs Attention to Detail – Owns the numbers, knows the numbers and their accuracy and completeness at all times Teamwork – Shares information and works well with the different working styles of others Continuous improvement – Seeks out and finds better ways to do things Resilience – Stays the course, is not put off by barriers, and pursues the task to its logical end Technical Expertise (continued) Hold or are working towards a CA or CPA certification Knowledge and Skill Experience mentoring SMEs on general business planning, financial management, asset, and trading structures For confidential enquiries about this role, call Ryan Cameron on Role Type Pay Rate AUD – AUD (Annum) Company Overview Murray Nankivell is a privately owned and run business in Regional SA.
