Special Counsel - Employment (Sydney or Melbourne) Join us at Kennedys as a Special Counsel - Employment in Sydney or Melbourne. Kennedys is seeking a talented Special Counsel to join our established employment team based in either Sydney or Melbourne. This role involves working closely with a highly regarded Employment Partner on a variety of industrial relations, health and safety, discrimination, and employment law matters, covering litigation and advisory services. The role also includes EPL work for insurers and clients. With the experience level required, this is an excellent leadership and mentoring opportunity, with scope to build a practice and gain exposure to our longstanding client base. The Special Counsel will also lead webinars and business development activities, leveraging our global reputation. Team Our Melbourne Employment partner, Chris Molnar, has over 25 years of experience and is accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a workplace relations specialist. The successful candidate will receive guidance and mentorship from Chris and support from a team of Associates and Paralegals. Clients Global and national insurers and underwriters Health sector agencies Private clients Public entities Cases Fair Work Commission, health & safety prosecutions, discrimination, wrongful dismissal, EO, and human rights Required Experience 8+ years PQE with a strong background in workplace relations Solid knowledge of Australian employment law Experience with Fair Work Commission and Federal Court processes Ability to manage own caseload Leadership skills and relationship-building ability *Experience levels are guidelines; applications from candidates with more or less experience are welcome.
