ECC Veterinary Nurse – Veterinary Referral Hospital, Dandenong VIC Part‑time (min. 20 hours per week) – an exciting opportunity in Emergency & Critical Care at a Veterinary Referral Hospital. Are you an experienced general‑practice nurse looking to branch out into referral or an emergency nurse seeking a new challenge? This role offers an enthusiastic PT nurse to join our vibrant team in Emergency and Critical Care. As an ECC role, successful applicants will be available for a variety of shift work across a 24‑hour roster, including nights, weekends, public holidays, swing or out‑of‑hours shifts. ECC nursing at VRH includes ICU, triage, patient stabilisation, support roles and hospital nursing – no two shifts are the same. You may jump straight in as an experienced ECC nurse or receive additional training and guidance as you learn the ropes. You will work closely with our team of ECC nurses and vets, specialists in Emergency & Critical Care, Anaesthesia, Neurology, Imaging, Internal Medicine and Surgery. Through hospital rounds and collaborative care, you will have opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive environment. Qualifications and experience Veterinary Nurse certification (minimum Certificate IV or equivalent) At least 2 years’ experience in the veterinary industry Exceptional organisation and communication skills Ability to work as part of a team, follow instruction and demonstrate initiative Positive “we’ve got this” attitude Adaptability to change and handling the unpredictable Demonstrated skills in anaesthetic set‑up, monitoring and surgical techniques Willingness to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends Experience in emergency and referral hospitals preferable but not essential Why join us?
