Primary objective The Officer Finance Systems Support is responsible for delivering analytical reporting, education, training, finance systems support, driving continuous improvement and overseeing compliance, assurance, and administration. The role provides high level advice and support to ensure compliance with financial frameworks, including period-end reconciliation and financial processes within the computerised Inventory Management System (IMS) to meet departmental commitments and strategic outcomes. Key duties and responsibilities Provide support, education, and guidance in the maintenance of accurate IMS data, including developing methodology for online procedures and support processes and achieving high customer service standards. Design, develop, coordinate, manage and deliver an internal financial systems training program to continuously improve user competencies, operational requirements, and agency compliance. Identify and review current training, consult on training needs, provide an ongoing review of program content and materials, and facilitate participation. Administer IMS period-end financial and reconciliation processes and produce relevant reports. Frequent review of IMS compliance and integrity, initiate procedures to improve data quality through continuous improvement activities. Maintain IMS support and security administration processes and ensure any access requests meet agency delegations. Selection criteria Essential Sound working knowledge of computerised IMS and finance systems and an understanding of business transaction practices and issues, with the capacity to apply financial principles and standards consistent with relevant financial legislation and regulations. Demonstrated experience in delivering information systems training and business support services to clients applying a blended approach in a variety of contexts including one-on-one, electronic delivery, small group, and large group forums. Well-developed knowledge of report generation techniques, methods of data extraction and analysis, and experience in financial management, reporting, reconciliation, and interpretation of financial data. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to articulate ideas clearly and fluently, provide advice and assistance and build and maintain effective networks and collaborative partnerships with a client focused approach. Demonstrated experience in systems management and analysis including application support and fostering continual improvement through the provision of innovative strategies and programs. Knowledge of security and experience in administering access rights, privileges, and access controls. Proven organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to change. Ability to think strategically, creatively, and laterally to resolve complex matters and identify areas for improvement in systems support and operations.
