Our client is expanding their carbon and sustainability capabilities — they’re seeking an experienced Carbon and Sustainability Team Leader to shape the next phase of their carbon, climate, and ESG reporting initiatives . This is a pivotal opportunity to drive decarbonisation strategies, strengthen climate compliance, and deliver measurable sustainability outcomes for both the company and our clients. About the Role You’ll lead a small team of sustainability professionals, developing and delivering data-driven carbon management and ESG reporting solutions. Working across SmartEnergy, Sales, and Marketing teams, you’ll turn climate insights into actionable business strategies that enhance value and compliance. What You’ll Do Lead the development of carbon and ESG strategies across internal operations and client portfolios. Manage emissions inventories (Scopes 1, 2 & 3) in line with GHG Protocol and NGERS . Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure audit-ready climate disclosures. Advise clients on compliance obligations under ASRS, CDP, NGERS , and emerging mandatory climate reporting frameworks . Integrate green procurement and sustainable sourcing principles into strategy and delivery. Collaborate with business units to create client tools, templates, and insights that support commercial and sustainability goals. Mentor and develop your team, fostering a collaborative and analytical culture. Support business development by identifying and delivering sustainability opportunities that generate measurable client and commercial impact. What You’ll Bring 5+ years’ experience in carbon management, ESG reporting, or sustainability advisory . Proven expertise in emissions inventories and climate disclosure frameworks (NGERS, CDP, ASRS). Strong analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and data modelling . Experience leading or mentoring a small team of sustainability professionals. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex carbon data into clear business insights. Strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams. Full working rights—Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is mandatory. Desirable: Knowledge of TCFD , carbon markets, or low-carbon technologies. Experience designing client ESG assessment tools or using carbon footprinting software . Why Join?
