Pharmacy Technician - Senior Grade 3 - Inpatient & Ambulatory Services The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is a leading public healthcare provider in Australia. We invite experienced pharmacy technicians to join our Inpatient Services team, working across City and Royal Park campuses to support safe, timely, and cost‑effective pharmaceutical care. About the Role As a Senior Pharmacy Technician (Grade 3 + Senior Allowance – TH10 + 10%), you will coordinate day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, mentor staff, and contribute to the future development of technician‑led inpatient services. The role is full‑time, ongoing, and offers salary packaging, superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave + 13 accelerated days off per year. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Pharmacy Technician to coordinate the day‑to‑day operation of the Pharmacy Inpatient services including discharges, non‑imprest review and ward technician services. Lead a dynamic team of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to provide high‑quality inpatient services. Train and develop staff to deliver these services. Participate in leadership decisions to shape the future of technician‑led inpatient pharmacy services. Maintain a customer focus for all services within the scope of the position. Contribute to after‑hours, public holiday, and weekend services. Participate in meetings and committees. Essential Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience as a hospital pharmacy technician. Demonstrated ability to work with autonomy, accuracy and accountability. Strong communication skills and a patient‑focused approach. Established dispensary experience and skills. Reliable, organised and able to work calmly in a dynamic environment. Desirable Qualifications Existing Grade 3 Pharmacy Technician experience. Experience using the Merlin® dispensing system. Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
