The Role The Human Resources Advisor is responsible for providing support to the Head of Human Resources in the various Human Resource functions, including investigations, return to work coordination, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee advice. This is a busy, challenging and demanding position that is people and service focussed. It requires the person to be able to think on their feet and be flexible due to the nature of the school environment. It requires the person to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with other staff, including Executive Team, Principals and campus staff. The Human Resources Advisor reports directly to the Head of Human Resources. Key Responsibilities Provide support to the Head of Human Resources Lead and conduct workplace investigations in collaboration with Principals. Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, candidate screening and interviewing. Provide guidance and support to Principals and employees for HR‑related issues. Build strong, collaborative relationships with employees. Support the implementation of HRIS system. Support staff with special needs ensuring effective support systems are in place. Present staff onboarding to large groups. Maintain HR systems, records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist and provide support with Rehabilitation and Return‑to‑Work coordination and Workcover claims. Continuously review processes across HR, identifying opportunities for improvement. Travel across campuses on a regular basis. Monitoring of blue cards/Queensland College of Teachers Registration Monitor and maintain expiry dates and details of blue cards/QCT registrations for staff, volunteers, and student placements through the database. Volunteers/student placements Co‑ordinate with Principals for new volunteer & student placements Process completed volunteer/student placement paperwork and liaise with Head of Campus when all paperwork has been processed. Monitor and update volunteer Working with Childre (Blue Cards). General Duties Work collaboratively as part of the HR team. Follow policies and procedures. Attend staff professional development and staff devotions where applicable. Strong attention to detail The successful applicant will demonstrate Demonstrated experience in a similar HR advisory role, ideally within the education sector. Minimum of 5 years HR experience working in a fast pace and often demanding environment. Experience with injury management and return‑to‑work coordination Strong investigation and reporting skills and experience Solid understanding of Fair Work Act, awards and other relevant legislation Ability to use initiative and apply sound judgement. Experience working with individuals with special needs an advantage. Experience with Humanforce (HRIS) an advantage Experience in conducting presentations to diverse, large‑scale audiences. Moderate computing skills including MS Office Confidence in building relationships with staff across Campuses Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills Well‑developed organisational skills Ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity with confidential issues. Ability to manage competing deadlines. A calm manner under pressure High standard of personal presentation Be flexible and adaptable to change.
