We are looking for a hands‑on Lead Automation Engineer to own this vertical, leading how automation, delivery, and QA operate company‑wide. This is a core, high‑ownership role within our Automations and Business Solutions team . You will lead a small, cross‑functional group responsible for every automation that powers Contour. You will design, build, and optimise workflows using Make.com, n8n, and HubSpot, while establishing delivery and quality standards that scale across teams. You will partner closely with our UAT Engineer, who manages user testing and issue tracking, while you oversee QA standards, delivery, and final sign‑offs on releases. You will also collaborate with the Head of Technology, analysts, and operational leaders across Contour’s brands to ensure automation becomes the invisible engine that drives growth. This is Contour. Built by students, for students. What You Will Do As our Lead Automation Engineer, you will own the automation and AI delivery function end‑to‑end. You will work across sales, operations, publishing, and marketing to design, build, and run systems that connect every part of the business. Plan, Build, and Ship: You’ll design and implement automations using Make.com, n8n, and HubSpot; lead sprint planning, standups, and retros; translate business requirements into scoped, testable workflows; connect systems like LMS, CMS, Stripe, and Google Workspace; and build lightweight tools in Airtable or internal forms to reduce manual work. Test and Assure Quality: You’ll build testing frameworks and error monitoring systems; coordinate UAT and document issues; validate inputs and track failures; provide final QA sign‑offs before release; and run post‑deployment reviews to measure impact. Document and Maintain: You’ll build and maintain the automation library with clear ownership and change history; keep documentation consistent and accessible; and ensure automations are modular, reusable, and scalable. Integrate and Innovate: You’ll experiment with AI tools for automation and data processing; prototype new use cases with the Head of Technology; collaborate across departments to identify automation opportunities; and partner with leadership to deliver measurable business value. Measure and Improve: You’ll track metrics such as uptime, adoption, and time saved; identify and resolve bottlenecks; and continuously refine systems for improved reliability and speed.
