About Alkira Alkira is a dedicated NDIS registered community organisation that proudly provides a range of services to support adults with an intellectual disability and their families. We enrich the lives of and challenge individuals to be a part of their community in the eastern metropolitan suburbs of Melbourne. About the role To support our participants with intellectual disability we have a new purpose-built café where customers enjoy a high-quality experience, and Alkira participants with disabilities are supported to develop valuable work skills in mainstream hospitality settings. Working with a small team, this position will see you be responsible for assisting the Café Manager in the daily operations of the café. In addition to delivering exceptional customer experiences, you will also help to create a positive, welcoming and supportive workplace for Alkira participants and their support workers and help guide them in their ongoing development. This position will also allow you the opportunity to assist with the promotional aspects for our Café and Coffee Cart. What You Will Bring A friendly and experienced Café Attendant with strong barista skills to help keep things running smoothly—and have fun while doing it. You will have a supportive and patient approach to help motivate others in a learning environment. A minimum of 6-12 months barista experience is required for this position. A minimum of 6-12 months café or hospitality experience is essential for this role.
