Thornton Legal, a boutique commercial law firm based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, is seeking a Solicitor with 5+ years’ Post Admission Experience (PAE) to join our growing practice. This full‑time role offers the chance to work closely with experienced colleagues across a broad range of matters including commercial law, property law, and estate planning . You’ll manage your own files while continuing to develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Manage your own files primarily in commercial law, property law, and estate planning Assist with complex commercial matters as needed and provide support on a range of transactional, contested and advisory matters Conduct legal research, draft documents, and attend client meetings Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture About You Qualifications & Experience Admission as a Solicitor in Queensland Minimum 5 years’ PAE in commercial practice Strong and practical experience in commercial law (e.g., business transactions, structuring, contracts) Familiarity with estate planning matters Interest in expanding expertise across other aspects of commercial and property law Skills & Attributes Commercially minded with a problem‑solving approach Effective time and case management skills Confident communicator with a client‑focused mindset Eager to learn, and receptive to feedback Team player who works collaboratively and supports colleagues Comfortable with conflict situations and willing to develop advocacy skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and compassionately with clients Some experience with litigious matters will be considered favourably Why Join Us?
