It is part of the innovative and progressive Pyrenees Cluster which comprises six small rural schools (Landsborough, Moonambel, Navarre, Natte Yallock, Amphitheatre, Trawalla). The school's core focus is to encourage students to become independent, lifelong learners. We achieve this by creating a learning environment where our students can become risk‑takers, independent learners and socially‑aware members of the community. Landsborough Primary School has a range of learning programs and resources to support student growth. Overview We offer a mobile library van (MARC) that visits fortnightly, an AUSLAN program in the Language curriculum, a weekly kitchen garden, and Full Steam Ahead cluster days that provide opportunities to interact with students from other cluster schools in specialist areas such as Art, PE, Music, and Digital Technologies. Additional activities include camps, excursions, and incursions. The school has one classroom for its 10 students (three in Foundation, one in Grade 1, two in Grade 3, two in Grade 4, one in Grade 5 and one in Grade 6) and many extracurricular activities such as Cluster Days, a Swim program, local excursions, concerts, and sport. The school also uses one‑to‑one computers, iPads, and video‑conferencing to enhance learning. Role Range 2 classroom teachers play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes determined by the school strategic plan and state‑wide priorities, and contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities. A critical component of this work will focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff about student learning and high quality instruction to support quality teaching practice. Expected duties include: Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor or coach other teachers to engage in critical reflection and support staff development Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies for professional learning Supervise and train one or more student teachers Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches that enable achievement targets to be met Responsibilities Direct teaching of groups and individual students Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program within the school Undertake classroom teaching related and organisational duties as assigned by the School Principal Participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions Undertake non‑teaching supervisory duties Selection Criteria High level knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills; responsive to student learning needs Ability to plan and implement high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate impact on student growth Ability to monitor and assess student learning, use data to inform practice and provide feedback to students and parents Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community Alignment with Department values and commitment to reflective practice and professional learning Who May Apply Registered or eligible teachers with the Victorian Institute of Teaching who are qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position. Key Qualification Requirements Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching If completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January 2024, must have satisfactorily completed a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program approved by an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority.
