Speech Pathologist (Grade 2) – St Albans Community Mental Health Team Located at St Albans site – Level 2, 147 Furlong Road, St Albans Friendly and supportive team environment Part-time (0.4EFT) Fixed-term until 17/06/2026 About the Role This is a part-time (0.4EFT), fixed-term role till 17/06/2026 for a Speech Pathologist within the St Albans Community Mental Health Team. Thursdays and Fridays are preferred working days for the successful candidate. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be providing high quality speech pathology assessments, consultation and intervention to infants and children 0 to 11 years old, and their families, who are consumers of RCH Mental Health. You will also be providing specialist input into the multidisciplinary assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Furthermore, you will be providing consultation to teams and services within the hospital, and external organizations and service providers to promote collaboration and build capacity. To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in the provision of child and adolescent mental health care as it relates to speech pathology assessment and intervention. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Highly developed inter-personal skills. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to personal mastery, good communication and integrity. Ability to seek help when required and to utilise supervisory mechanisms. Your skills and experience: Hold a degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university Be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and meet the requirements of the SPA professional self-regulation. Uphold the SPA Code of Ethics Demonstrated clinical skills in the provision of speech pathology services to children and adolescents. Qualification, experience or demonstrated interest in child and adolescent mental health. Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team About the Department RCH Mental Health is a Level 5 tertiary Infant, Child and Family Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service and comprises community and hospital-based services. This includes three multidisciplinary community teams which are based in Travancore, St Albans and Hoppers Crossing. This position will be primarily based in the location listed above however you may be required to work across sites should the needs of the service require this. Our Community Mental Health Programs are undergoing an exciting transformation and expansion as we implement the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. The transformation will allow the RCH Mental Health Service to help more infants, children, and their families, and implement contemporary models of care that best meet the needs of the families we serve and support them to use their collective strengths for recovery and hope. As part of this transformation, there will be opportunities for further training, supervision, and development.
