The Opportunity We’re looking for a creative, motivated and organised Social Media Coordinator to bring IBA’s stories and key messages to life across digital platforms. You’ll manage social media channels, create culturally respectful content, and help deliver campaigns that make a real impact. This is an Identified Position. The occupant must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, as permitted by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) and/or relevant Commonwealth legislation. IBA values cultural knowledge and lived experience as essential to this role. About the role The role will be part of the Strategic Communications team, which is responsible for the brand and communication needs across the business, internal and external, including marketing collateral, corporate documents, website, social platforms, significant events, and intranet communications. Create engaging social media posts, videos, and graphics that reflect IBA’s brand and values. Coordinate content calendars and schedule posts across Meta, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. Monitor engagement, respond to comments, and report on performance. Support digital campaigns for key initiatives like home ownership, business workshops, and investment. Work closely with First Nations stakeholders to ensure cultural integrity in all content. About you Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. Genuine passion and interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and affairs. Creative thinker with good problem-solving skills. Always happy to assist others. Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications/marketing or equivalent industry experience. Great team player can work independently with strong initiative and self-motivation. What you’ll bring to the team Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture. Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff. Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms and producing content (including video / reels and graphics) in a business context. Strong and accurate writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences and different social platforms. Experience in analysing social media metrics and preparing actionable reports. Proficiency in social media tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager) and design platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite). Strong organisational skills / time management skills and the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Awareness of latest social media trends and technology Quick learner with enthusiasm and willingness to develop knowledge and skills Ability to think creatively and come up with new ideas Confidence to communicate ideas and recommendations What you will get in return A values-based organisation committed to Indigenous economic empowerment. 15.4% employer superannuation contribution.
