About This Opportunity This Melbourne‑based Senior Corporate Counsel will deliver comprehensive legal support for Australia, New Zealand and Structured Finance across the Asia Pacific region, focusing on cross‑border transactions, new business initiatives, regulatory compliance and litigation management. The role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and works with team members in the Asia Pacific and US. What You Will Do Provide legal support for transactions, compliance, corporate governance, litigations, and other matters for Cat Financial’s core business in Australia, New Zealand and Structured Finance. Advise senior management and provide clear recommendations on legal matters. Assist with implementation of legal strategies and goals, researching complex legal issues and reviewing and drafting complex documents. Provide leadership, legal expertise and counsel to business leaders at all levels. Assess legal risk, identify and resolve legal issues across a broad range of exposures. What You Have Legal expertise and practical experience in managing financial services; knowledge of legal analysis methods and tools. Business acumen and judgement within the financial leasing industry. Risk‑management knowledge and ability to apply it to diverse situations. Strategic vision and ability to lead change with an enterprise view. Leadership skills and knowledge of concepts to enlist others in achieving objectives. Problem‑solving initiative, risk identification, decision making, and responsibility for resolving problems. Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and negotiation skills. Collaboration across levels, functions and external parties. Critical‑thinking and decision‑making knowledge to analyze situations and make informed judgments. Education And Experience Requirements 4‑year college or university degree with a law background; LL.M. preferred. Legal Professional Certificate and substantial experience in Australian law practice. 8‑10 years of work experience, with 3‑5 years in captive financing or related role. Rich experience in transactions, legal agreements, litigation, compliance and regulatory matters in the financial industry. Demonstrated record of interpreting complex legal issues and managing multiple projects with minimal supervision. Proficient English language skills, both spoken and written, with strong legal writing. Additional Information Working environment – 5 days in office. No sponsorship or relocation support.
