Casmek Investments is seeking an experienced Butcher to join our team in our Launceston, Tasmania location. This is a full‑time role where you will be part of a team that will supply our supermarkets with the exceptional quality meat that we are known for. You will be involved in all aspects of butchering, from cutting and preparing meat to creating the perfect Saveloy as well as maintaining a clean and organised work environment. This is an off‑site butchery; it is not a customer‑facing business. It has been fitted with brand‑new equipment in a purpose‑built location, ready for you to join a team under an experienced manager with the express purpose of supplying supermarkets. What you'll be doing Cutting, trimming, and preparing a variety of meat products to store specifications Maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑organised work area, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations Collaborating with the team to ensure efficient workflow and high‑quality products Participating in inventory management and stock control Undertaking any other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the business What we're looking for Formal butchery qualifications or equivalent industry experience Excellent knife skills and the ability to break down lamb & pork carcasses, prepare various meat cuts and produce top‑quality small goods under the guidance of an experienced manager Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment What we offer Competitive wage and benefits package Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development A supportive and collaborative work environment in a non‑customer facing business Staff discount at Casmek Investments supermarkets and other businesses About us Casmek Investments is a leading provider of high‑quality meat products and services in our existing supermarket, Bay of Fires IGA, St Helens and the soon to be opened IGA Inveresk (February 2026).
