P&D caterers pty Ltd Responsibilities Planning Sri- Lankan Cuisine menus and ordering ingredients accordingly Inspecting deliveries to ensure fresh produce Selecting and following recipes Measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients Chopping, slicing and seasoning food Baking, frying, grilling and boiling food Adjusting recipes to meet special dietary requirements Presenting attractive, appetising and garnished dishes Cleaning workspaces, utensils and dishes Maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment Managing food storage and stock levels Meeting food safety and sanitation regulations Training kitchen hands or apprentices Liaising with wait staff and management Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment Preparing and cooking food Seasoning food during cooking Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements Plan Sri - Lankan cuisine menus with Chefs and estimate food requirements May train other kitchen staff and apprentices Benefits A full-time cook will work 38 hours per week Annual salary and Superannuation will be paid by the employer into your nominated super fund. 4 weeks of paid annual leave per year (plus leave loading in some cases) 10–12 days of paid personal/carer’s (sick) leave annually. Paid public holidays (or penalty pay if you work those days). Parental leave, compassionate leave, and community service leave as per the National Employment Standards (NES). Qualification & Experience Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or relevant studies in equivalent field. Must require Experience and skills as a cook in restaurant, cafe or other hospitality venues. Preference will be given if applicant has Sri- Lankan Food cooking experience. About Company P and D is based on entirely Sri- Lankan cuisine and focusing on classic dishes like Ambul Thiyal, Pol Sambol, Eggplant Modju, Casava Curry, etc. We are providing services based in Dandenong North and have a lot of customers from nearby suburbs. We have a good reputation and name as a Sri- Lankan Cuisine restaurant. We are continuously growing and extending our team to give the best and consistent Sri- Lankan Food experience to our valuable customers in dining and catering services.
