About the Role Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Microsoft Data Architect. This is a long-term contract role until 30 June 2026 with a 12-month extension option (up to 2 extensions), located at our client’s offices across QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, TAS with hybrid working arrangements. Responsibilities Map existing data holdings, inputs, and dependencies. Investigate and recommend optimisation of data holdings for different project streams. Design and implement data architecture and integration frameworks aligned with best practice data lifecycle management and compliance standards. Develop and maintain documentation to support renewed data processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise reporting processes, ensuring data accuracy and quality. Monitor the effectiveness of revised and renewed data processes and adapt as required. Work collaboratively with the division, department, and across government to share knowledge and deliver outcomes. Uphold data governance, including policies, processes, access, and compliance. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings, preferably within regulatory compliance agencies. Proven experience assessing and optimising data holdings to meet operational and strategic goals. Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to present to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with an existing Baseline security clearance (or higher).
