About the role We are offering a fixed term Redress Case Manager role in the Redress Support Service team at our West Leederville office. The position involves providing case management and counselling support for people considering applying to the National Redress Scheme. The Redress Support Service provides support to individuals who have experienced Institutional Child Sexual Abuse and who are considering making an application for redress. The role is responsible to provide trauma informed support to people throughout the application process including supporting clients during disclosure, assisting clients to prepare their applications, supporting people to access other services, communicating with the National Redress Scheme on behalf of clients and providing counselling support as required. Skills, experience, and qualifications A tertiary qualification in social work or psychology or a related field is required. Counselling and case management experience along with knowledge of working with people who have experienced trauma is essential. Knowledge of institutional abuse and childhood sexual abuse and an understanding of working with First Nations people and of culturally sensitive practice is highly favourable. Current Western Australian driver’s license, WA Police Force Police Clearance (to provide upon request) and Working with Children Check are essential. The successful candidate will have a desire to support people who have experienced disadvantage and understand social justice.
