Overview Business Analyst - Mortgages, Loan Origination - Edgecliff, New South Wales Based. Fixed-term to permanent - $156,800 p/a package (including super). This role combines the analytical skills of a Business Analyst with the delivery focus of a Project Manager to drive client transformation program. The BA will work with the project leads in the scoping, documentation and management of requirements, while ensuring timely and compliant delivery of core modules. The successful candidate will bring strong deep knowledge of mortgages from both origination and loan management perspectives, understanding how regulatory frameworks (AML/CTF, NCCP, Privacy Act) intersect with operational efficiency and customer experience. They will use this expertise to translate business needs into practical, compliant, and customer-centric solutions. The role will bridge business stakeholders, technology vendors and internal operations to ensure \'customer & simplicity at the heart\' of the solution. Key Responsibilities Engage stakeholders across Operations, Credit, Finance, Compliance, Risk and Technology to gather and refine requirements to provide to Mortgage Origination and Core Break down large, ambiguous problems into smaller, well-defined tasks or use cases. Create process flows, user stories, functional specifications and other artifacts. Translate business needs into logical, structured and actionable requirements. Work closely with software vendors to ensure accurate implementation. Facilitate workshops, interviews and brainstorming sessions to design market leading experiences for all stakeholders. Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and data analysis as needed. Assist with test execution, and support UAT by preparing test cases and validating deliverables. Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the planning and delivery of transformation workstreams and modules. Drive sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives in an Agile-hybrid environment. Preferred Attributes Business Analysis: Proven ability to elicit, document, and manage requirements in financial services (preferably lending). Project Management: 5+ years’ experience delivering complex technology or operations projects. Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of origination processes, VOI/KYC/AML requirements, settlements, and mortgage operations. Delivery Tools: JIRA/Confluence, ClickUp (or equivalent), PowerPoint/Excel. Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills. Ability to handle competing priorities and simplify complex requirements.
