The successful candidate will be based in Sydney and work in a hybrid model of 3 days on-site and 2 days WFH. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL databases across development, testing, and production environments. Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency and reliability. Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to design and implement database solutions. Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with internal and external regulations. Automate routine database tasks using scripting tools (e.g., Bash, Python). Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner. Participate in database design and architecture discussions. Required Skills 2‑3+ years as SQL Database Administrator with DB2 experience. Strong SQL scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills. Experience with backups, recovery, and database security. Linux/Unix environment knowledge. Experience with AWS RDS, Azure Database, MySQL, CI/CD pipelines, and HA/replication setups is a plus. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, candidates must be Australian Citizen holding an Active NV1 security clearance or higher .
