Senior Pricing Analyst

The role The Senior Pricing Analyst will support the end-to-end pricing of our insurance products through best-in-class data analytics, modelling and implementation. The Senior Pricing Analyst is a highly technical role and ensures our insurance pricing decisions are based on robust data-driven analysis and a deep understanding of risk-based pricing. General Understand sources of data, its limitations, and uses within the team Analyse, interpret, and extrapolate data from a number of sources to resolve complex issues Efficiently manage and manipulate very large data sets Implement complex rating changes and quantify the expected impact on the portfolio Draw insights and provide recommendations on next steps Explain technical work and communicate findings to senior management Evaluate alternative data sources for risk rating Identify opportunities for improvements to risk rating data and automate analytical processes Assist with the development and maintenance of data assets for the wider team Other Perform other reasonable and relevant activities (e.g. data extracts, price queries, compliance investigations) to meet operational requirements Adhere to all pricing policies and procedures Test IT changes and effectively identify potential issues before go-live Prepare and present complex papers for presentation to GMs, Directors or P&UW Committee What experience you’ll bring Essential 3+ years of general insurance pricing experience Proven analytical and problem-solving capability Excellent attention to detail Programming knowledge (e.g. BigQuery, SAS, SQL, R) Degree qualified in mathematics, actuarial studies or similar Desirable Familiar with Rate Reviews and modelling techniques (e.g. GLM, GBM) Python experienceGIS experience Our Perks Location: Toowong - Close to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, the Toowong office has excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues.
