Senior Software Engineer – UI and API Development Job Overview Westpac Institutional Banking (WIB) is building the future of banking technology through the Westpac One Core/Treasury project. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, develop and implement enterprise‑level UI and API platforms for Corporate and Institutional clients. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop and maintain cloud‑native UI and API platforms using React.js, TypeScript, Redux, Node.js (REST) and optionally Java and AWS.- Collaborate with Scrum Facilitators, Product Owners, Lead Engineers and DevOps specialists to deliver industry‑leading solutions.- Contribute to solution design, architecture and implementation across multiple programs and complex infrastructure, particularly in financial services or banking. Qualifications Knowledge - Strong background in UI and API development.- Deep technical expertise across modern development frameworks. Experience - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Proven experience developing and implementing UIs & APIs that meet project objectives.- Prior solution design across multiple programs.- Background in software development and agile methodologies.- Hands‑on experience with complex solution designs and implementation phases.- Experience designing or implementing credit decisioning application integration patterns.- Extensive experience in application integration on complex infrastructures, ideally in financial services or banking.- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Education - Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.- Banking experience highly regarded.
