Experienced Baker

Join the team at Paddock Bakery, a renowned café and bakery originally from Burleigh Heads, QLD, famous for our wood-fired sourdough, crème brûlée doughnuts, and dippy eggs. We've quickly become a must-visit destination in the historical Federal Mills precinct in Greater Geelong, and now, we're planning an exciting expansion into Bendigo. At the heart of Paddock Bakery is our hand-built red brick wood fire oven—a tradition that started in Burleigh Heads and continues to drive our success. We’re open 7 days a week and are rapidly growing. The Role As we expand our team we are seeking an experienced Baker for a full-time position, working 5 days a week, including weekends, with an early start at 3.00am. You will work closely with our Head Baker, Bakery and Pastry Teams, mixing, shaping, and baking high-quality baked goods to meet customer demand. Pastry experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities Mixing, shaping, and baking a variety of high-quality baked goods. Operating, cleaning, and maintaining all baking tools and equipment. Implementing quality control to ensure a consistently high standard of product. Managing production schedules and maintaining stock levels. Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met. Assisting in the recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management of the baking team. About You Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a trade qualification. Familiar with all professional bakery equipment and machinery. Able to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively. Willing to start early in the morning. Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Possess a driver’s license and own vehicle. What We Offer A roster that supports a great work-life balance.
