Commencing on the 19th of January 2026 At Trinity College, we believe every student deserves to feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive. We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Student Wellbeing Youth Worker to join our dedicated Wellbeing Team. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people while working in a collaborative and values-driven environment. In this role, you’ll be connecting with students individually and in groups, helping those with social or emotional challenges, and developing programs that promote wellbeing across the school. You’ll also play a key part in building strong community links and supporting the Christian ethos of the College. What we’re looking for Someone who genuinely cares about the wellbeing of young people and understands the importance of creating a safe, supportive environment where they can flourish. You'll be attentive and responsive to individual needs, able to listen with empathy, and build trust through patience and integrity. This is a part-time position (.8 FTE – 4 days per week), with flexibility to negotiate .6 FTE (3 days per week) to support work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Provide direct support to students in collaboration with the Pastoral Care Team, creating a safe and welcoming environment. Respond appropriately to students in distress, including offering mental health first aid and co-regulation strategies. Work with students and families to identify needs and connect them with school-based and community wellbeing supports. Contribute to the development and implementation of tailored plans that promote student safety, engagement, and equity. Advocate for continued connection to learning for students at risk and deliver evidence-based interventions that build wellbeing and resilience. Support the Christian ethos of the College and comply with mandatory reporting policies Qualifications and experience We're seeking someone with a Certificate IV or Diploma in Youth Work, or equivalent. Work experience in the education / school sector using protective practices, including mandatory reporting and other child-safe legislation requirements and commitments, would be an advantage. A working knowledge of Friendology, Zones of Regulation, trauma-informed practices (specifically Berry St training and approaches) and a restorative approach to conflict resolution. Knowledge of College policies, procedures and work systems Before you start Because the safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority, you'll need to : Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Agree to our Child Safe Policies Complete RRHAN-EC Masterclass training (Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care settings) Why join us?
