Expression of Interest – Auslan Teacher for 2026 Heights College is an outstanding Christian K-12 school of around 1,100 students located in Rockhampton, Queensland. The College invites applications from suitably qualified, highly motivated, engaging and effective Christian Teachers. We are excited to invite Expressions of Interestfor a passionate and dedicated Auslan Teacher to join our Heights College teaching team in 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to pioneer and lead the delivery of Auslan from Prep to Year 7,shaping an engaging and meaningful learning journey for our students. About the Role Position: Auslan TeacherWorkload: 4 days per weekContract: 12-month position (2026)Year Levels: Prep – Year 7 The successful applicant will lead the teaching of Auslan in alignment with the Australian Curriculum: Auslan (Version 8.4). This includes: Designing unit plans, learning sequences and assessment tasks that reflect Version 8.4 content descriptions and achievement standards. Ensuring student progress is assessed and reported to families in line with school expectations. Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that promotes the value and beauty of Auslan as a language. We Are Looking For Someone Who: Is passionate about Auslan. Has experience teaching Auslan or a strong background in the language is preferred. Can plan, implement and assess in alignment with the Australian Curriculum. Is organised, collaborative and committed to delivering excellence in teaching and learning. Values working in a dynamic school environment with students across primary year levels.
