Certified Bookkeeper/BAS Agent Casual 5-10hrs/wk (More optional) Immediate Start We are a vibrant and positive BAS, Bookkeeping and Business Advisory company, based in Wollongong, assisting clients in the Illawarra as well as nationally. We help an array of industries, people from all backgrounds, identities, and demographics - to join our team is to be someone ready to work with all of our clients and team, like they are family :-) Yes, 95% of your work is likely to be from home; however, all of our team members must be physically local to the Illawarra. Please note that we are currently not accepting interstate or overseas applicants at this time. We are seeking a new Bookkeeper/BAS Agent to join our team of energetic, inclusive, inquisitive, and kind bookkeeping professionals who can work effectively both as a team and independently. Following instructions (provided by a mix of written, video, Google chat, and over the phone, usually), meeting deadlines, and self-management are core to this role Required : Must be available for at least 2-3 hours on Mondays before 3pm. Certificate IV in Bookkeeping (original to be sighted and a copy of the certificate required) or higher Accounting degree or diploma. This is an absolute MUST. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Office Suite products, especially Excel. Have experience setting up or migrating a business to a software package like Xero, MYOB, QBO. Extensive experience with at least one: MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks Online. Preference to someone who is familiar with multiple Which one is your fave? Ability to self-manage tasks, time manage, work under a deadline, work as part of a team, or autonomously. Exquisite attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Consistent and reliable access to the internet and a mobile phone. Have reliable motor vehicle access for the rare need for onsite work. For example, once a month you'd need to pick up receipts from a client in Yallah who is not near public transport. National Police Check (dated in the last 60 days) This is around $56 and takes 2 to 10 days to receive. You will not be able to commence work without supplying one. You can wait till you make it to the interview process, and we will suggest that you get your NPC because you are shortlisted. For any applicant who is successful in getting this role, we will compensate you for 50% of the fee, if you needed to get a fresh one. Speak and write English proficiently. Legally allowed to work in Australia without restriction. Access to a well-working laptop and phone, and internet, with substantial firewalls, and they are secure from others. Non-Apple preferred, at least for the laptop ;-) Preferred : Certified in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online, or another software entity. (Note if you are not already certified, but think you qualify, please advise us of this, and for our successful applicants, we can arrange for certification at no cost) Registered BAS Agent - either currently registered or just needs help in applying (for the successful applicant, we can help) Familiarity with Google Apps. What you will gain from joining our team: Immediate start with 5 to 10 hours a week (fluctuating depending on the client's needs that week). Option to increase your hours (only if you want to). Reasonable but very estimated projection is: 15-20 hrs within 12 months. Depends largely on your skill set and client retention. Plenty of opportunity gaining valuable experience in an array of scenarios Maintain or gain BAS Agent Registration, Certification in Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks. Connection to learning and training platforms and events at no or low cost to increase your repertoire of skills and certifications. Ability to work from home 50-95% of the time. The hourly rate starts at Clerks Award Level 1 and increases to Level 2 after 40 billable hours. Flexible hours – ideal for a parent returning to the workforce. Guidance in retaining your certifications.
