Our client has approached Randstad to help them develop their significant footprint further in Australia. They are a solid identity in NSW, with a head office in Sydney, and have just been awarded major projects in other states, TAFEs/Universities and school infrastructure, as well as federal government defence projects. They are renowned for consistent delivery, a positive approach, and high staff retention – people want to work for them because they are reputable, established and financially buoyant with a full order book into 2028. The key to their success is motivated staff, and they are very selective about whom they employ and invest in. About the role As one of their Project Managers, you will be expected to take full ownership of the project. Programming is a key requirement of the role. The role is ideal for someone who can comfortably perform on projects over $15 million AUD from a commercial, industrial or civil Australian‑recognised builder. About the Projects They are well known for building exceptional projects featuring mixed industrial “tilt‑ups” and structural steel for manufacturing outlets, warehouses, storage facilities and university upgrades. For commercial new‑build projects they run a lot of repeat client work for government contracts under GC21 and DFAT. Ideally you will possess a pleasing portfolio working for Australian‑recognised contractors and have over 8 years of experience on similar build projects in Australia. Project managers for relocation will be required to do a police check before commencement. Duties Preparing programmes Forecasting Budgets Costing Financial reporting Adherence to BCA standards Site inspections, establishment and testing Daily and monthly reporting OH&S Subcontractor site inductions Client care Managing onsite issues Working to deadlines, contracts and project time frames Requirements Minimum of 8 years’ experience on similar projects, ideally for a Tier 1, 2 or 3 builder in Australia. Professional delivery of commercial and industrial projects, end to end. Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. Knowledge of construction – including steel and precast – and building codes and regulations. On‑site construction experience. Commitment to safety and quality compliance. Multi‑project planning and coordination. Strong stakeholder management skills. Great communicator. Ability to work with site managers, subcontractors and contract administrators. Manage project budgets. Problem‑solving ability. Willingness to travel across NSW. Working knowledge of Office 365, Teams and SharePoint. Knowledge of Procore or a similar system is an advantage. Highly motivated and ambitious with drive and passion in a leadership capacity. Confident and looking to exceed in all facets of your work – delivering on time and on budget. Exceptional communication skills. Computer skills – use of Microsoft Project. A “can‑do” positive attitude and confidence. Good management approach. Culture This firm focuses on its staff, encouraging constant development, training and promotion while maintaining a positive, resilient culture that sees the humorous side even in pressured circumstances. Benefits In return you can expect a generous salary package, a well‑supported site with multiple trades, labour hire, site managers and supporting engineers, and the opportunity to fast‑track to senior project management based on performance. They reward employees for their hard work, investing in their wellbeing with extended leave entitlement, corporate fun days and team-building events. Relocation and Duration Relocation costs are provided and the role offers a stable 3‑year duration. If you are looking for a change of pace, weather or location, consider the northern territory – this is for you.
