Join to apply for the Senior Modeler - Construction Modeling role at Walter P Moore Responsibilities A Senior Modeler has the responsibility for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of detailing principles and practices in broad areas. A Senior Modeler bears primary responsibility for properly executing the accuracy and constructability of the project model(s). They manage a team of professionals, set direction, outline goals, and execute the project plan. A senior modeler’s roles include complex modeling, planning, organization direction and quality control of projects, being a team leader through technical supervision and staff development. Build concept models and connections to ensure alignment with design team. Attends kick-off meetings to explain design options and gather information related to schedule and budget Plans and leads internal and external project meetings Collaborates with architects, contractors, and other engineering consultants to develop engineering solutions Coordinates and guides preparation of construction documents with drafters, modelers, designers, clients, and internal quality control staff Communicates, coordinates, and interacts with clients, consultants, and team members regarding project information Oversees designs, reviews project specifications, and interprets applicable codes and industry standards Guides/assists other modelers regarding issues such as codes, design criteria, and software Conducts regular quality-control checks of own or others’ work as assigned Resolves project issues (e.g., technical, budget, schedule, billing, etc.) Manages workload distribution and project resources Collaborates with project manager to ensure appropriate staffing Monitors the performance of personnel on a continuous basis and reviews performance with individuals per company guidelines Markets Walter P Moore services to current and potential clients at professional meetings and other events Promotes our Extraordinary Client Experience (ECX), by building effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations Actively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image Qualifications 15+ years of prior experience with 10+ years of prior experience in Tekla steel detailing on complex projects. Excellent written and verbal communication Strong organizational skills Demonstrated ability to engage individuals and teams to complete tasks or projects. Ability to mentor and lead individuals and teams, build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives Demonstrated career growth that includes experience working on design teams for a variety of building or project types Strong client-service attitude with the ability to multitask and accomplish multiple priorities Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment Hybrid Firm Statement Walter P Moore is a Hybrid firm, offering a unique opportunity to have the best of in-office and work from home environments.
